- This presentation discusses the use of equation 6.61 to complete in-plane checks of the rafters and columns. Since the production of this video in 2012, a comprehensive research project has concluded that no in-plane checks of individual members are necessary – members in portal frames should be verified using equation 6.62 only. More detailed guidance is given in P399, which largely replaces P397.
